Beauty and Brains

Beauty and Brains, full-length shot.
If you haven't already guessed, the doll I referred to yesterday is Beauty and Brains. She arrived in yesterday's mail, and I must confess, I am truly delighted. Tonner hasn't been able to do that in quite a long time.

I'm delighted to report that this doll not only looks like her promo photo, but she looks even better in person. I thought that photo looked a lot like the actress who played Lorena Krasiki, who played Bill's maker, in the HBO series, True Blood. She's portrayed by actress Mariana Klaveno. (Go ahead, click on that link, and check out that photo. Now compare it to the photo below. Wow.)

This doll, Beauty and Brains, is part of the Wizard of Oz line. She is a scaled (from 17" athletic to 16" Antoinette) version of the DeeAnna Denton face sculpt. She's gorgeous. I hope we see her again. She uses the Antoinette body.

The outfit is a snap-front shantung, chiffon and tulle off-the-shoulder jacket and slim, shirred, patchwork skirt. The boots are faux suede platforms. She has wooden and gold earrings and a floppy hat, as well as a tulle neck piece. Her hair is long and chestnut, styled in a side-swept ponytail with a braid.

See lots more photos on my Flickr photostream.
